"Playstation 3's classic first person shooter."
4 stars"

Although it's a little dated now, Resistance is still one of the best FPS titles on the PS3. The campaign's story is mysterious and intriguing, and is one of the few PS3 first person shooters which can be played both single player and co-operatively split screen. The game also features a hefty multiplayer, with lots of modes and maps, which can be played both off and online. Sure it may look a little ‘senior’ by current standards, but you owe it to yourself to play PS3's first true classic (even if it's just so you are informed prior to playing Resistance 2, or the up-coming Resistance 3).

"Action packed and challenging"
3 stars"

This game is truely challenging from the very beginning. That challenging aspect is also one of it's major draw backs. Unless you are a hardcore FPS addict, this game will be difficult from the beginning and never let up. I have never died so many times on the first few levels as I have with Resistance.

Graphically it is up there with similar titles of its time but is starting to show its age on the PS3 now. The required mapping and objects dictating which flow and direction your character must follow gets a but tiresome as well.

That being said it is a fun FPS to play once you get over dying so much and the variable selection of weapons can be quite fun as well. For the money it is not a bad game at all, especially if you are a hard core FPS gamer.

"Good launch title"
5 stars"

This was a great game at launch and was fun and entertaining. Now that the years have passed by and Resistance 2 is out there really is no need to look back at this game. I'm not saying it's bad, just that it has been two years and now there are better games out there. Though it is now half price, it is much more worth it to buy Resistance 2 which has a much brighter and vaster colour palette, greater level designs without the claustrophobic feeling of this one, waaaay cooler enemies to fight and generally improved gameplay.

If you want to experience what started it all then by no means let me stop you, but for those wondering if it's worth saving a bit of money to get this instead of a $100 title? Then no it isn't and you should get Resistance 2! xD

"An awesome FPS game..."
5 stars"

An awesome FPS game that although linear, provides plenty of action and enemies.

A vast array of weaponry and enemies that are very intelligent! The campaign modes will be roughly 8–18 hrs depending on the difficulty although Superhuman is no Veteran as on Call of Duty but rather easy if your take your time.

This is an ideal shooter to start with for beginners and the online is still going well with up to 40 player matches – MORE than Killzone 2.

There's typical online game modes such as Capture The Flag, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch etc…there's to much to do.

I may warn, some levels may scare younger children such as the underground but not as much as horror games.

A highly enjoyable game that delivers in every way…10/10 without a doubt but Resistance 2 improves in all aspects of gameplay.

"Classic"

Purchased on Mighty Ape

Brings you back to the visceral game play of where it all began. Platinum for a reason.

"Fantastic, like Halo 1"
5 stars"

This game does not look amazing, but it plays amazingly with a friend. Co-op is great! And the weapons are fun. The story is just perfect for the needs of the game play and it takes you through multiple environments.

"A highly addictive FPS"
5 stars"

This was the game I got for my PS3 and it still holds up today. Graphically, yes it can't compare to the current day games but in pure gameplay it is unrivalled. The only way I could describe it is Ratchet and Clank in WW2. The variety of weapons and situations give you a huge palette to experiment on to pass through the game, culimnating with one of my favourite final levels of this generation. Still worth dropping a few dollars on this as it is one of the most solid shooters of this generation.
