This book describes the life of the Native American Indians before Columbus including the heinous atrocities inflicted upon them to the present where they are actively working to regain their heritage and their culture. It describes the forced removal from their homelands and the enforcement of Christianity and assimilation into the White Man's culture. It also describes how the United States Government betrayed them on every level to obtain their land for growth and development. It also goes into the court cases that were settled but on most cases were broken. It also tells of how the Natives are surviving, growing, and resurrecting their heritage and customs.
