Following the death of Jonathan Murtagne, David Gardner has settled into his double life in New York as Michael Angelus, running the corporate finances of the massive Murtagne Corporation whilst acting as a consultant for the U.S. Internal Anti-terrorist Agency, secure in the knowledge that he has buried his demons along with his past. However, the French authorities are desperately trying to piece together the events surrounding Murtagnes' death and unbeknown to anyone, Michael's killing of his employer has inadvertently spawned a new threat which will bring terror and death to the streets of the city and ultimately involve him in a deadly game of cat and mouse, with both his own life, and that of Anna, his partner, at stake.
