Description

Return to Graveyard Dust is a collection of poetry that allows a glimpse into the mind of one writer. It's like opening the pages of a haunting and dark diary. Her love of speculative fiction is apparent, and it spills over into these poems. Free verse is put to use in painting a disturbing portrait as the writer travels from the two Virginias to New England, and into adulthood and beyond. The poems are sparked by nonfiction and fiction alike, and they are raw, and sometimes quite dark as they take a look at life, death, and what comes after. All in an honest attempt to heal. An intimate look into the life of this writer, and how she has dealt with life, death, and after. Keeping in mind that life is all of those things you often come across as you try to make your own way in the world while struggling to discover yourself. And death is facing inevitable loss, the death of the loved ones closest to you, as well as the death of relationships, and even the person you once were. After, deals with the fact that you have survived all that has crossed your path, both good and bad. The growing pains to reach your potential. Love and loss have been absorbed into your being, and they have molded you into the person you are. This is that period of time that follows after all is said and done, before you return to dust, and it is good...
