"Favourite Roald Dahl Stories"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This boxed set of Roald Dahl books is not only absolutely fantastic value for money, it is a real treasury of some of the best childrens books ever written. These classics will ignite the imaginations of children of all ages and are just as enjoyable for adults too. Favourites such as “The Twits” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” are as appealing today as they were when I first read them over 25 years ago. This would make an awesome gift for any child!

Description

Six Roald Dahl favourites come together in this very special box set. Complete with fun and fascinating extra material offering a sneak peek into the wonderful world of Dahl, this is a collection to treasure forever. Illustrated by Quentin Blake.

Roald Dahl Boxed Set includes:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Charlie Bucket loves chocolate. And Mr Willy Wonka, the most wondrous inventor in the world, is opening the gates of his amazing chocolate factory to five lucky children. It's the prize of a lifetime! Gobstoppers, wriggle sweets and a river of melted chocolate delight await – Charlie needs just one Golden Ticket and these delicious treats could all be his.

Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator
Charlie Bucket has won Willy Wonka's chocolate factory and is on his way to take possession of it – in none other than a great glass elevator! But when the elevator makes a fearful whooshing noise, Charlie and his family find themselves in splendid orbit around the Earth. A daring adventure has begun, with the one and only Mr Willy Wonka leading the way.

The BFG
The well-loved story of a big friendly giant who spirits a child out of bed to the land of the child-eating giants. Every night, when the world is sleeping, big gruesome giants guzzle up whoppsy-whiffling human beans. And there's only one giant who can stop them – the BFG. He's the kindest giant there is and, with his friend Sophie in his top pocket, he sets out to rid the world of the Bloodbottler, the Fleshlumpeater and all their rotsome friends forever.

Danny the Champion of the World
Danny thinks his dad is the most marvellous and exciting father a boy could wish for. Life is happy and peaceful in their gipsy caravan, until one day Danny discovers his dad has been breaking the law. What's more, soon Danny has to join his father as they attempt to pull off a daring and devilish plot against their horrible, greedy neighbour, Mr Victor Hazell.

The Twits
Mr and Mrs Twit are extremely nasty, so the Muggle-Wump monkeys and the Roly-Poly bird hatch an ingenious plan to give them just the ghastly surprise they deserve!

George's Marvellous Medicine
Most grandmas are kind and helpful ladies. Not George's grandma. She's a grumpy and grizzly old grouch and George wants to teach her a lesson. So when it's time for her medicine, George concocts a bubbling, frothing, marvelous mixture, which is guaranteed to send her through the roof…
