Throughout my life I have been an artist, and gradually taken an interest in healing in its many forms. As a result, I have developed my artistic skills alongside learning various therapies, including crystal healing, reiki and shamanic skills such as Munay Ki, and this has helped influence my perception, and hence my style. I began my higher education by studying furniture design at Newcastle Polytechnic in 1975, obtaining a BA Degree. I then went to London to work as a textile design assistant, later as a potter in Scotland and Northern England. During a period between jobs, I began to start a series of paintings, trying to depict the spirit of a place, which evolved into the subtle energies or meditative imagery of places such as landscapes, including trees, skies and ancient sites. Since then, I continued in a variety of jobs; pottery work, office and care work, until I got married and had a son in 1995. The inspiration continued as I began to work on producing lots of paintings of ancient sites, exhibiting my art work in Cumbria, the south west, Anglesey and Northumbria. This was all leading towards producing my books, eventually.
