I can recommended this Saitek Cyborg Evo stick to anyone comtemplating an interim stick until the ‘Saitek Cyborg Evo Force Joystick’ arrives. The word to remember is the ‘EVO’ model (in both cases).
The stick was easy to install, calibrate and use in MS Flight Simulator 2005 and FSX (demo). The calibration and stability is the BEST of any joystick I've used until now, and I've been around joysticks for as long as they've been around.
The nicest thing is the ability to adjust the height of the ‘wrist support’ which is attached to the stick by a knurled knob/screw and has 3 height adjustments. There is a matching set attachment points, which allows the wrist support to be used by ‘southpaws’ or left-handers. The wrist support is dismantled and flipped in this case, something not readily apparent, but now you know.
There are two other angle adjustments on the top of the stick, to align various buttons for comfort.
Other buttons on the base are programmable via the bundled software. The stick has an excellent thottle control, as well as a very positive twist stick rudder control, and both are very stable. The stick's spring is excellent in all aspects of its operation.
Speaking of stability, the base is quite large large in its footprint and although it's fairly light in weight, is substancial and stable in use. The stick's engineering is very good, too
Overall, I give this stick a ‘highly recommended’ mark and FIVE *****. I look forward to upgrading to the Saitek Cyborg Evo Force Joystick when that model becomes available. (Don't confuse it with the current model.)
