Novelist Ben Mears (David Soul), returns to the town of his childhood unaware that an ancient evil has been unleashed on the town. Sinister goings on lead Ben to believe that the answer lies with Mr Straker (James Mason), and inevitably the story wends its way to the final Good vs Evil confrontation.
