Samsung SyncMaster 24" Wide LCD Full HD 2494HS (with HDMI) reviews

Bought this product elsewhere probably about 6 months ago now, and have had nothing but joy with it. Haven't played much with games; briefly with GRID, and looked beautiful, with minimal obvious refresh; I have, however played many DVDs through HDMI and it looks stunning. Makes me wanna buy a PS3 and get some Blu-Ray movies, it's great. The only gripe is the touch buttons – I often find myself pressing the wrong button – but this isn't something I have to do too often. Highly recommended!

This screen is the best one to choose if youre looking for an awesome deal and good quality. I'll run you all through my experience with the screen over the past 2 months.

Pros: *Very sturdy feel to the screens stand and build quality, the screen also rotates on the stand 360 degrees which is sometimes handy. *In game graphics are astounding, you can see every little detail. *Screen doesn't heat up.

Cons: *I found myself constantly having to tweak the settings of my screen and Nvidia graphics mid-game. In snowy levels that are all white, I would have to adjust the screens contrast and brightness so im not constantly squinting, wondering where the snow mounds end and start. Same goes for Dark games, Having to turn up the brightness so I can actually see whats going on. *Touch buttons are a pain, and often don't respond very well. Whats worse, they are on this annoying 45 degree slope so its impossible to read what button is which unless you bend over in your seat.

Over all, a decent screen, but there's a few issues with bright games and dim games. However no-one else seems to have stated this problem so don't take my review too seriously.

If not for the screens brightness and contrast issues in some situations and the touch buttons on the screen, I would give it 5/5 but unfortunately these 2 factors have left me somewhat disappointed.

Perfect monitor.. PS3 @ 1080p is amazing..... The touch buttons are annoying to use but other than that the monitor is great.

I have researched for many weeks for a great spec'd monitor and this one definitely stood out.

The technical specs are absolutely awesome, whether you're using it for gaming, computing or watching DVDs. The display pretty much massages your eyeballs – it is that amazing! Also not to mention the Samsung quality (nuff' said here) You're pretty much getting more value than you pay.

You better get your paws on this baby at the current price!! You cannot get any better than this, seriously.. It is a wonderful addition to the family, esp for DVD and gaming. I also use it for uni essay and thesis while having the net on the latter screen..
