It's a must have for any outdoors person. Every person in the New Zealand Scout's or Army Cadets should have a copy. As an ex-Scout and ex-Scout Leader and father of a son in the NZ Army Cadets I Will stand by this book 150%.

"'THE' survival reference"
4 stars"

This book covers every aspect of survival: building a shelter, starting a fire, setting traps, edible plants, weapon making, weather guaging, navigation and map reading plus alot more.

If you can not only remember everything writen in this book but also learn it all, i can confidently say that surviving in the wild wouldnt be any more challanging than your current everyday life.

The only thing i can say against this book is that it is not country specific, so if you are wanting to know edible plants in New Zealand for example you will have to source another reference. But if thats all i can say bad about this book…

An interesting fact about this book, is that it is carried in the military by fighter pilots of several nations to use if they found themselves in a survival situation after being shot down.
