Description

Introducing one of America's Pulitzer-winning poets to British readers Yusef Komunyakaa is one of America's most highly regarded and compelling poets. His poetry has been acclaimed as among the most original of his generation. Yet his work is little-known in Britain. All that is set to change with the publication of SCANDALIZE MY NAME, a selection from twenty five years of his powerful, elegant and marvellously allusive poetry.

Author Biography

Yusef Komunyakaa was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, in 1947. His numerous prose and poetry collections have won him various awards including the Pulitzer, William Faulkner and Hanes Poetry Prizes, as well as fellowships from the Louisiana Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. A professor in the Council of Humanities and Creative Writing Program at Princeton University, Komunyakka lives in New York City.
