We bought this as part of our continent studies: North America. It is highly textured and finely coloured. It is to scale with other Schleich figurines, and this shows how large its shaggy winter coat makes it. Lots of discussion about how they migrate and that there used to be millions of them on the plains. We also have the moose bull and moose cow.
Excellent figure, tough and really realistic
Bison, which are often also known as buffalos, are extremely strong, compact wild cattle from North America. The front section of their body is covered in a thick, dark coat.

Global Home:
Primary Habitat: Forest, Savanna, Shrubland
At a height of more than 1.8 meters and weighing in at more than a ton, bison are trully powerful mammals with curved horns. Bison live in the prairie and feed on different types of plants. The fact that they are herbivores makes no difference to their temper. Bison are known for their aggressiveness and despite their size are surprisingly agile. Bison graze mornings and evenings and doze during the day. Just like rhinos they enjoy rolling in dust or mud. Bisons live together in herds, looking out for wolves and defending the cows and calves against approaching enemies.
Ages: 3 Years and up.
