A story of a senior pastor stricken with cancer and the turmoil that followed. His wife details her journey as his caregiver over the past nine years. She shares some of the things that have been helpful for her and how her faith in God has sustained her. Her husband shares from the patient perspective what the patient needs from the caregiver which in some cases is different from what the caregiver is providing. This is a story of sickness, despair, and hopelessness. But in the midst of it all God is faithful to keep that which has been committed to Him. The caregiver is often over looked in the pursuit of caring. The author challenges the reader to get to know the caregiver, not just the duties they perform but the heart with which they carry out their daily task. The love of a caregiver goes beyond what the eyes see. This book will encourage and inspire caregivers.

Author Biography:

Dr. Evelyn Johnson-Taylor is Founder of Women of Promise International Ministries Inc. A nonprofit ministry focused on providing women with the tools needed to be effective in the Kingdom of God. She is also an adjunct professor at Grace and Truth Christian University in Tampa, FL. Former Registered Nurse. She has earned a Bachelor's degree in Women's Studies from Trinity College of the Bible and Masters and PhD. in Ministry from Grace & Truth Christian University. Pastor Scott B. Taylor is a former Senior Pastor who served for nearly 18 years. After being diagnosis with cancer in 2008, he stepped down in 2010. He continues to serve in ministry in a limited capacity. Scott has an earned Bachelor's degree in Theology from Grace & Truth Christian University. His secular career includes Senior Systems information technology professional prior to his illness.
