See You Up There
In November 1918, a few days before the Armistice, Edouard Péricourt (Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, Glue) saves Albert Maillard's (Albert Dupontel, Irreversible) life. The two men have nothing in common but the war. By ordering a senseless assault, Lieutenant Pradelle destroys their lives while binding them as companions in misfortune. On the ruins of the carnage of WWI, condemned to live, the two attempt to survive. As Pradelle is about to make a fortune with the war victims' corpses, Albert and Edouard mount a monumental scam with the bereaved families' commemoration and with a nation's hero worship.
Critic Reviews:
- " As so many movies out there take no risks and don't dare to say anything, Dupontel's film deserves to be celebrated. " – David ‘Mad Dog’ Bradley
- " the story, with the flamboyant Edouard's creativity in full bloom, is an almost fantasy concoction of art, choreography, friendship and loyalty. And, love, too. " – Robin Clifford
- " A luxurious, successful reconstruction of the time, with staging that's balanced and intelligent. " – Alberto Luchini
