Quinton's quest to free himself from his bondage to the Underworld leads him to the great river city of Gaergoth, where the powerful trade guilds rule a city in decline. Strange creatures dwell in the mists of the Black River, killing all who enter and stopping all trade from the city. When Quinton learns of a mysterious ship lost in the mists, he knows it could be his only hope to sail south and enter the ocean world of the Undersea.
