Shadownose was a lonely soul, a soul who was trying to find someone who would love him. He did not mean any harm to the girls or to any other human being. What he wanted was a toy. He believed that one day he would find a toy that would burst into life and would speak and become his friend. Shadownose lived under the floor of the local library. He stored a huge collection of toys there. Among them, buried in the piles of other soft toys, was Eve's teddy bear. Many nights he sat there motionless with a gloomy, sad face, waiting for a miracle to happen. But none of the toys moved. None of the toys spoke to him. There was a huge, lonely silence ...just him and the soulless toys.
