Author Biography

Born and raised in rural Missouri, Russ Swigart was involved in agriculture from an early age. After high school he continued his education at Central Missouri State, obtaining a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. He taught at Orrick Elementary School as a sixth grade teacher for four years and then middle school and high school for two years. He wrote his first children's book, Sheep in a Sweater, in college. He is currently writing the Pippa book series. As a child he was active in the local county 4-H, showing various types of livestock. After high school he traveled, showing cattle professionally prior to continuing his education. Russ currently resides on a farm in Lafayette County, Missouri with his wife, two daughters, and three bloodhounds - Pippa, Moose, and Guin.
