"This movie is just too good to miss out on seeing"

This is one music doco/film you should not wait to see. This movie details the band from its early beginnings to where they are at in present day. It details the highs, the lows the funny and not so funny moments of this great Kiwi rock band who are true kiwi music icons. This film/doco is an autobiography (aswell as an emotional rollercoaster) chronicling the bands 24 year history in the music scene. Overall this doco/movie shows why Shihad is one of the great mainstays of the NZ rock scene. I felt like I got to know the band nay the family (I now consider the band as a family entity) through this documentary we got to hear about some of the pitfalls of touring when there are relationships involved, stories behind some of their songs,it opens your eyes to how much this band has gone through and how one joke can ruin opportunities. I give it 5 out of 5!

(Addition to the review to those who have not seen this movie who go out to the shows and buy the cds there is sooo much more to the band then what we see and hear as mentioned in the review there are high points and low points.)

"I don't trust the police and the government believe in Shihad"

Shihad Beautiful Machine dvd very informative look at the band from a bands perspective from the start to were they are now. The good times to the bad times the struggles touring the USA the pressures of being noticed by major record labels in the USA to the name change to Pacifier. It is produced really well the interviews of the whole band were done really laid back at their own homes it was really good to hear it from the bands perspective and the way they felt about how things were going. There is also some really good live footage of them on stage in the early years of Shihad. Being a long time fan of the boys I really enjoyed watching it I would recommend it to any one who loves good guitar riffs and great song lyrics. Bill

"An inspiring insight into the highs and lows of kiwi rock icons"

Great film, highly recommended. Discovered a heightened level of respect for a band I already looked up to. Dives very deep into the band's history and personal lives and seems as though no topic/question was off limits.

For over 20 years, Shihad has defined New Zealand rock music.

From their roots in Wellington’s furious 90s punk metal scene, to the wild Berlin days, the tragic overdose of their manager, the international explosion of The General Electric, and the
infamous American name-change, Shihad: Beautiful Machine asks – what went wrong? More than a documentary, this is an all-access pass to an extraordinary rock saga, charting a legendary band’s fight with fame, fortune, the industry, and finally – itself.
