Author Biography

Rachael had a wonderfully happy childhood in the country and now lives in London with her husband and two young daughters. She had many successful years in advertising, working on brands as diverse as Boots, Greenpeace, The Science Museum, Coca Cola, Fruit - tella and Vaseline Intensive Care. However, she eventually found juggling career and children unrewarding and decided to stay at home and focus on her two loves- family and writing. She started by creating stories for her own little girls and had her first picturebook, Sammy's Surprise Deliveries, published by Macmillan in January 2007. Amanda's dad clocked early on that the one thing to get him some peace and quiet was to ask her to go draw a princess. A full-time illustrator based in Oxford, she scans her expressive nib pen drawings and then adds colour and texture digitally, a method she developed when studying children's book illustration at Brighton University. riginally from Sweden, Amanda's artwork has appeared in magazines, advertising and drama productions in the UK and abroad.
