A truly amazing piece of filming, that exposes the viewer to the true horrors of the Holocaust without showing countless starving or dead inmates, gas chambers, random executions and the other events usually seen in films about this terrifying time. Instead, all of these happen off camera, or are only partially suggested over the shoulders of Saul, desperately trying to bury his dead son (or is it really his son-) in the Jewish tradition. The soundtrack is a masterpiece, in that it makes the unseen horrors even more real. Difficult viewing, but a must see.
