Sony WH-1000XM4 (2020) Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-Ear Headphones - Black reviews

I haven't heard a word my wife has said in weeks.

Ive been using noise cancelling headphones for a few years (Plantronics Backbeat Pro), and upgraded to these ones. The jump in active noise cancelling performance between these is absolutely stunning. Peoples voices turn into a quiet barely audible tinny sound (far, far superior to the BB's), and background hum is utterly gone. The first words out of my mouth when hearing the noise cancelling performance while people were speaking…well, they cannot be repeated here. Lets just say, im very impressed. Music performance is good, not too bass heavy. The reviews are right, these are the best out there.

Read the reviews before buying and they were right. These are amazing with outstanding sound quality.

These are Sony's premium ‘flagship’ headphones for 2020 and the quality is outstanding! The price is up there, but these headphones out perform anything currently on the market from others (Bose, Sennheiser, Beats, JBL, etc.) The only tip I can offer is be very careful if you buy the silver colour, marks, bumps and scratches stand out compared to the black ones so that's something to consider. Again these are THE BEST audio & noise cancelling headphones you can buy (so far) hands down.

After finding that many Bluetooth headphones had functions or features that proved to be complicated, these headphones are straightforward to use from the start, with built-in features you can manage via an app rather than on the headphones themselves.

Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a straight-forward pair of Bluetooth headphones with great sound quality.

Best headphones.

I bought these to watch tv and whilst they paired easily, the sound judders and stutters each time I pause the programme. Starts off good until I pause, then it’s crap from then on. I have to re-pair to stop the stuttering. Not happy in that respect. But absolutely awesome paired to my iPhone XS and listening to music. I expected better for the tv use, so ultimately disappointing and can’t recommend for that purpose.

These headphones worked great for the last two years, but recently started randomly screeching into my ears, so loud I'm worried they may have done damage to my ear. I don't dare put them on again.

Noise cancelling is superb as well as the quality of audio.

Best headphones for work, study, travel.

Good set of headphones. ANC is on point. Nice fit on the head. Sound quality is good. Controlls are algood.

Had the XM3's – these are better

These headphones are amazing at cancelling noise, however aren't as great for using the microphones for phone calls as it picks up on too much background sound. Bit of a shame to purchase a separate microphone considering the price of these.

Good headphone but noise cancelling hurts my ear drums and gives me headaches even with the sony app's atmospheric pressure optimising

I find their noise cancelling second to none. I cannot hear if anyone is even speaking to me close up. The quality is excellent and 20+ hours before charging has been amazing also. Previous pair were MPow, and in comparison it has been truly worth it.

Amazing sound quality. Battery lasts forever. Noise canceling is great and doesn’t change sound quality at all like other headphones. Ambient mode is a little loud for my liking but comes in handy. Touch controls are responsive and hard to mess up. These are the best closed back headphones I’ve owned so far.

Sony WH-1000XM4s they’re as comfortable as ever; they introduce useful features that elevate the user experience; and, more importantly a serious hike in sound quality for this money.

Musicality and enthusiasm remains as addictive as ever, but you can also hear big improvements across the board. Sony headphones will be tough to beat.

I have these for 2 days now. Absolute joy to use. The noise cancelling is excellent, considering that my siblings make our house seem like a zoo at times. The initial sound profile wasn't exactly to my taste but after fidgeting with the EQ on the app, I have adjusted them to my liking. The only thing I don't like about these headphones is the mic quality and the fact that they can get very warm around the ears around one hour of usage. Otherwise, I recommend these to everyone looking for headphones around this price range

It lives up to it's name, the noise cancellation is great! Been a month since purchase and is still good!
