Speed (1994)
LAPD cops Jack Traven and Harry Temple rescue a group of executives trapped in a sabotaged elevator, thus foiling mad bomber Howard Payne's ransom demands. In retaliation, Payne sets a new challenge for Traven: a bomb on a city bus which will arm itself when the bus reaches 50 mph, and which will explode if the bus drops below that speed or if any of the passengers try to escape.
Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997)
"Speed" survivor Annie Porter (Sandra Bullock) can't seem to escape maniacal terrorists, as she discovers soon after boarding a posh luxury liner with her engagement-minded boyfriend, Alex. The bad news is that the disgruntled--and recently fired--mastermind behind the ship's electronic control systems wants revenge on his former employers, so he sets the ship on a collision course with such deadly targets as an offshore oil tanker. The good news is that Alex has been training on the sly with an elite LAPD SWAT team, so he and Annie attempt to save their fellow passengers.
