A comedy about the unlikely friendship that kindles between a struggling stand-up comedian from L.A., forced to move back home to Eastern Long Island with his tail between his legs, and a tragically flawed, but charming and charismatic, alcoholic dermatologist. Discovering to be kindred spirits, each helps the other find healing, in addition to the confidence to face the “failures” in their lives.
Critic Reviews:
- " An unexpected delight, this modest movie is buoyed by the charming performances from the two leads as well as a sincerity that helps the rather cliched moments seem fresh." – Charles Koplinski (Reel Talk with Chuck and Pam)
- " Billy Crystal has…found a worthy return in this big-hearted comedy about two hard-drinking, emotionally tormented loners who, despite themselves, strike up the most meaningful friendship of their lives. " – Bill Newcott (The Saturday Evening Post)
- " Peter Hoare's script contains bromantic clichés, it's true. But just as many scenes confound." – Charlotte O'Sullivan (London Evening Standard)
