"Crapiest Trekkie Game Ever!!!"
1 stars"

You think it's a bargain buying this game............well think again!!! Played it a few hours and return it the next day. I had problems with the game from the music skipping like a scratched record player, slow game play and controlling of the ships. This was very frustrating!!! These makers have really let us down and I was looking forward to this game for the last 18mths...........shame on you Bethesda!!!!!!

"Poorly Planned" Purchased on Mighty Ape

To begin, the minimum specifications on the back on the box aren't true. You actually require a much faster computer than the one specified. I have an AMD64 3200+ with 1GB of ram and a 128MB 6600GT graphics card and this game still gave me problems.

It has many bugs, which aren't going to be fixed like in game frame freezing that causes you to lose your cursor after waiting a good 5 minutes for the game to come back, random texture errors and the magically torpedo that will randomly destroy a battleship with full shields.

Some of the missions are pretty hard, ridiculous and lack guidance, like the first mission you play as Captain Picard. It took me 90 minutes to try and finish the mission only so that I could be told that I failed, and it was only after a fluke on my 2nd try did I realise what the game wanted me to do. As mentioned the lack of in game saving is a bit of a pain.

But all this aside, the ships are very cool and the cinematics and graphics are very pretty. If you can get past the controls and the lame targetting system the story line and gameplay is pretty good aswell.

"Practically unplayable."
2 stars"

It looked cool to start with, if very basic. Then I tried to pilot my ship in a battle and that's when I gave up in disgust. You use the WASD keys to maneuver and it's just ridiculous. It's hard enough just flying toward a large stationary object like a planet, never mind trying to cope with maneuvering against other ships. I just can't believe they had options and thought this was the best one. It's like when they made the game no one actually tried to fly the damn thing with those controls and they don't realise just how unfeasible it is. It's that bad! I think the game was designed for Xbox controls, and they didn't bother working out controls for PC.

You can use the F key as a ‘set course’ order and that's fine until combat starts then it becomes useless because it breaks your target lock and sets the throttle to full.

I don't know what the rest of the game's like because I didn't play it, but I've read some of the missions are laughably difficult, and there's no in-mission saves so if you screw up you lose upto an hour's worth of playing.

It's completely baffling to me that someone would spend all that time and money to make a game then leave something so glaringly, disastrously wrong with it.
