I am sorry if this upsets some, but this particular copy is just not worth the trouble.
It gives off the basics of the original trilogy sure, but it is riddled with “Lucas Enhancements” which ultimately screw up the film.
Check for yourself the differences from the theatrical release to what it has become now…
I would recommend getting this if you just want a broad look into what the original trilogy was like, but NOT if you are looking for the original trilogy that you remembered.
Whilst the trilogy is amazing in almost everyway. These ones are the CGI remastered versions – with dodgy CGI Jabba, and Annakin in return of the Jedi makes an unwelcome appearance. Still it's star wars, it doesn't have Jar Jar and I get to watch it with my kid so that's worth a 4 star review
You either ‘get’ Star wars or you don't. I do, and have been a fan for decades. Nice to have them all on DVD.
I can remember as a boy, going to the cinema to see Star Wars for the very first time. Not knowing what to expect I was so excited, and when the moment finally came, the theme music, the back story line rolling up the screen, wow what a moment! To now own the complete Original trilogy, with added scenes I might add, is nothing short of amazing! Well done Mr Lucas!
This age old classic movie is a must have in the collection. It never fades and is always entertaining.
I don't think these films have really dated. The special fx are still great, especially the sound of the light sabres. George Lucas really had a vision of his different creatures. Some are really life-like. A treasure to hand down from generation to generation.
Just the opening soundtrack is enough to grab attention and the rest of the movie(s) just keep delivering the action

Rivetting and the special effects were excellent. Well acted and well photographed.
My childhood memories are laced with actions and dialogue of the characters. Epic in proportion, Epic duel between good and bad, inspiring creative minds to not know limitation. George Lucas, is an agent of change.

Original trilogy, great movies, timeless value. There are no special features, and these are the new-and-improved versions, with the at-times not-actually-better graphics and scenes – personally, I would have liked to get my hands on the original originals. I also would have liked some special features. Still, 3 great movies, good low price, can't go wrong.
Great for my 8 year old son to watch these classics.
Awesome 70's and 80's nostalgia
Have not seen this trilogy since my children were little. Had a marathon of the trilogy one wet Sunday afternoon and it was great, no wonder my kids were glued to the TV when we used to put them in the old school days via the video machine. Well recommended for big kids and little kids!!
I grew up with Star Wars IV, V and VI and in my opinion they are the best of the Star Wars franchise. I saw the first movie quite a few times, and I'm happy to say that watching it again hasn't disappointed. Great stuff!
Just re watched these for the umpteenth time, love Star Wars, and have fond memories of seeing the first one in the theatre when I was 13. The original three are still way better than the newer three. DVD was pretty good on my blu ray player.
Condensed DVD box set to save on space. Awesome classic timeless movies.
Although the graphics and technology were much updated in the second trilogy, it was still superb!

Awesome classic
This is a trilogy worth owning and for the price you can't go wrong. I have watched this trilogy so many times that it is impossible to count but I still get the need to watch it again which is why I purchased the DVD. Also if you love this trilogy then I'm sure you would love the prequel trilogy that tells the story of episodes 1,2 and 3
These films really show how a great story and superb characters come together to give a movie that can be watched over and over again without ever getting old.This is a must have for anybodies collection
Nothing beats the original in this case. One of my favourite memories as a child was watching this trilogy with my dad. It is still as captivating as I remember and was a fitting bday prezzie for him :)
The original Star Wars trilogy cannot be beaten for classic one-liners, action packed scenes, dramatic music and amazing special effects decades ahead of its time. The best sci-fi films ever made.
