"Awesome sound"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

The sound really comes to life, I enjoy listening to spotify whilst playing my favourite ps4 games and the Mic sounds awesome. My wife never knows when my headphones are on either because there isnt any residual sound.

"Comfortable headset!"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

First of all, I find that the black on the sides rubs off over time; this means that the light shines through where the black once was on either earcup. The headband is clever and very comfortable. Sound is good, software is easy enough to use. Chat/Game volume adjustment is an excellent idea, but the cables are messy for me, and I find myself disconnecting it by accident at least once or twice a week. It doesn't really stay in place well. The dial may need more resistance, it is easy to accidentally turn it all the way mid game, muting the game or chat. The mic is good! It isn't as good as a dedicated mic, but it does a fine job. I find the dual sided mic function to be meh; people can hear my keyboard easily.

"A fantastic product i'd recomend to anyone"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I purchased these headphones in 2017 after going through 2 pairs of headphones in two years and was left stunned at the difference in quality between the arctis 5 and the headphones i'd used previously (a razer pair I'm not sure which model exactly). The Arctis has beautiful sound quality and amazing control over the experience with the volume control wheel, the quality doesn't come in a bulky frame however and the headset is one of the lightest I've owned before, I can have them on for 5+ hours at a time without feeling any discomfort on the top of my head or ears. This pair of headphones have lasted me 3 years and the worst that has happened to them is a foam ring popping out that I got back into place in 5 minutes. The microphone isn't the best on the market but for a 2017 headset for 150 dollars it is exceptional quality like the rest of the headset.

"Great headphones"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Ive had these headphones for about 2 years, and they served me well so far. Very comfortable to wear, very light and sometimes I forgot that Im even wearing them. I like that the mic is able to be concealed when not needed, makes it a great all round headphone for gaming & watching movies / music. Only negative is that it lacks a little bass at times. But overall a great headphone, and I would recommend it to anyone who is out there looking for something which can be used as an all-rounder.

Enjoying the headset so far. No issues to report and the steelseries engine makes customisations so simple.

"Good stereo, but bad surround sound"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

For stereo mode, gaming is actually quite good while competitively play games like CSGO, PUBG, etc. Stereo sound is very detailed. Enemy footsteps in games is pretty amazingly detailed. But as soon as you enable the DTS:X surround sound, the audio sound pretty bad. It's like every sounds feels like it's coming from a hole or something. The Steelseries Engine is pretty dissapointing too because the equalizer setting is a standard one, not the advanced so customizing it to your needs is pretty tricky, you will need extra software to do that. I used razer surround sound software to do that ( even though it is a Steelseries Headser, I know ) for a better sound quality for watching movies and listening to music. And when I gaming, I switched back to the Steelseries Engine. Great comfort, good durability but cable management is a bit tricky as there are pretty long cables, you will need to buy some cable ties for better management. Overall, I would strongly suggest buying the Arctis 3 instead of the 5 because it is the same but without that USB connection. But if you need that RGB illumination and that surround sound ( Seriously, don't get it just because of the surround sound, it is sucks ), then get the 5, otherwise the Arctis 3 will be a better option simply because of the great stereo sound and design.

"Never going to buy SS headset again"
1 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I was really excited about getting this headset. Once it arrived, I tried it on and it was really comfortable then plugged it in my computer then bam the right earcup won't make a sound. There was a problem between the main cable and chat mix cable, not sure what cable is fault but tried the main cable with 3.5mm and right earcup work. Im still trying to get a help from mighty ape about this problem, hope they can help me.

"Sound Quality good for price"
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Sound Quality was good for its price as a mid tier headset, mic wasn't the best. Cables were handy as that's how my headsets often break, could order replacement cables directly from SteelSeries at an okay price. Had to replace the cable once not long after purchasing, a slight bend killed the cable easily. Got a few replacement cables but then the headset itself had issues. Ear pads were below average.

Can wear them for hours and hours without feeling any discomfort

"Great headset, but the connection is faulty"

I had to RMA the product because a solder connection inside the headphones had come loose and the microphone no longer worked. Steelseries was more than happy to replace it though, and it has been an excellent headset otherwise.
