Very easy to use and setup the sound quality is amazing and footsteps are easily heard when playing FPS and third person games. Just listening to music to high res is awesome

alright , so i brought a ASTRO A10 headset last year and it what iv been using but i felt like my gaming experience could be more immersive ,so i did some research into how to improve my audio with a friend and we both decided to get the SteelSeries Arctis Pro + GameDAC Headset . the box arrived about 10 mins ago so its quick set up . first thing i did was play some music on hi-res … the audio is so good that i find my self getting tingles and getting lost in the sound . the experience kinda just makes me smile and giggle like iv just walked out of a room at a party followed by a girl to then be meet by all my older friends congratulating me on loosing my virginity

"Great stuff - Pricey but worth it"

So let me set the scene for you:

You've got the headset brand new in your hands, you open it up, everything is meticulously packaged and labelled to the point where it's impossible to get confused where everything goes, you plug in the GameDAC first, which then gives you a jolly greeting and introduction to all the features including the famed Hi-Res Audio which sounds GORGEOUS, although at the moment the feature is criminally underutilized by games and other software (this will change in near future).

The headset itself is also very comfortable and feels durable. No wireless is a bummer but understandable with the tech involved and the price is quite steep. Those are the only negatives to be found.

SteelSeries did not mess around with this thing, but also found a way to maintain a very casual vibe that is infectious. I never write reviews about products I buy like this, but this one was so good, I felt I needed to do it justice.

"Not worth $350 to quite only for small heads no help and where t"

PROS: RGB gives me more fps Best mic ever but way to sensitive can hear me talking from 15 foot away and no way to turn down sensitivity HI-REZ is ok but not going to justifie $350 CONS: RGB on a headset pointless Only for small heads you can not extend the band to fit big heads only losen the band to position the earcups on ears thats about it Took 5 days to get EQ setting so I can hear foot steps in one game when my HYPER X CLOUD II could clearly help me hear footsteps on many games csgo pubg ROE escape from tarkov Mic to sensitive and picks up every thing Ear cup clamping force for bigger heads it way to much causes ear tips to feel pain and the inner foam padding in earcup is not enuf causes pain there to Cord length from dac to pc is way to short its like 2 or 3 foot max needs to be 3m minimum IMO And my biggest problem with this $350 headset is my $140 HYPER X CLOUD II are louder and not by a little bit ether I mean like 35/50% louder

to sum it up save your money and get a better headset because if you get this you will be needing to setup individual EQ profiles for every game and that could take up to 30 min or so if you know what your doing or even longer if you dont know how to set up EQ profiles the default EQ settings are shit to put it nicely /shit padding in earcups / volume is to quite /short cords /days of setting up EQ profiles for games cos every games is different/ to sensitive mic/ headset has very little adjustments for head sizes only small heads will fit well (JUST NOT WORTH THE HASSLE OR THE $35O)

"Don't waste money on the DAC"

The headphones themselves sound great, but the DAC isn't worth it. The audio mixing for discord causes static whenever someone talks, and every so often the dac goes into a bootloop forcing you to reconnect the whole thing to the PC.

"Great sound but ps4 pro users beware."
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Was really excited to receive this little gem, however the excitement was shortly lived. I set this SS headset with dac on my ps pro, only to find all my buddies complaining about a buzzing sound, after playing with settings for an hour I found no fix, turned sidetones off etc. After doing further research it seems to be a grounding/Earthing issue. You have to mod ps4 to eliminate the humming noise. So stupid.

"For small heads only! Unadjustable and unwearable!"
2 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

We went above our budget to buy this headset for our son for his 18th birthday based on the good reviews. He says that the sound and mic are great, as is the padding on the earphones (plastic bracing joining headphones is not padded at all). Unfortunately, the headset can't be adjusted (only minimal adjustment allowed with velcro strap), and the earphones barely reach his ears. The other issue is that they overheat slightly within a short time and the tightness gives him a headache so he can only wear them for short gaming sessions. Do not buy this product if you have a regular or larger than regular sized head (I am a female with a small skull and the earphones barely cover my ears, and that is with the velcro strap completely loose). $399 plus shipping is a lot to pay for an unwearable headset which can't be returned. Very dissapointed (although purchase and ordering through Mighty Ape was awesome and this was the best price for the product that we found in Australia with the fastest shipping).

"Great when it works - software and hardware issues"
3 stars"

I've enjoyed the overall expereince regarding functionality, sound, and fit. But, I can't recommend spending this sort of money on a system that has constant software/firmware glitches where windows does not properly recognise the mic/audio input and outputs and you always need to edit the default audio in Windows 10. 90% the time I need to unpluf the DAC and plug it back into the system to even be deteteced by Windows. Completely sours the purhcase and overall great design of the headphones. Overall very disappointed and did not expect this much troubleshooting and irrepairable faults. I'm using GSP350s atm for gaming only and they are solid and WAYYYY cheaper. Dont get sucked into the audiophile hype. Get dedicated cans for that.

"Don't let the other "not for big heads" reviews dissuade you"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I took a chance on these headphones as they were on special and I needed a pair of gaming headphones. These were highly rated by most tech reviews – however I did read the reviews on this website that mentioned it not being for bigger heads. Being of the big head (+ample hair) variety myself, I was pretty cautious about buying because of this.

I don't know if the other customers just didn't realise how to properly adjust the headband strap or what, but I have had no problems with this fitting my head once I adjusted the strap – and I haven't used up all of the strap. Comfort is fine, even – and especially – for longer gaming sessions. There is a tonne of room in the earcups, too.

Sound is really impressive. Low-mids in particular are great when listening to music. I own and have owned several mid-high end headphones in the past, and these really measure up well. Very immersive for gaming where you can quickly work out which way a noise is coming from, and the DAC is handy for having a physical volume button next to my mouse that I can tweak. Whether the DAC is actually worth it or not I can't say, because I haven't had a go without the DAC.

I heartily recommend these headphones – big/medium/small heads alike.

"Great sound but very uncomfortable"
1 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

These sound great but there isn't much space in the ear cups and they seem to press right up against your ears they are clearly designed for smaller ears/heads. Also the headband has almost no padding it's a very rigid squishy piece of plastic above the head band and this presses up right against your head even with the headband you can feel it after a while. Even after constant adjustments I cannot wear these for more than one hour my ears get too hot and sore and sometimes they give me headaches. Also if you turn the volume on the dac up too high you get the hissing noise in the earphones so you can never really have them at full volume. Designed for small ears and head and not worth the price.
