Description

"STILL OWING ME GOODBYE" is more like an autobiography, except for the names and characters, which are fictional. The short story has its setting in Esan land, South of Nigeria. It's about a young African boy, Ehizoya who was born in one village (Idumhughulu) and had to live in another (Idubhuesogban), few kilometres away. The story is about many things, about Ehizoya's search for identity; his strong love for his grand mother who later died; his friends in both villages, their primary school excitements and their famous night play in the village. It equally was about family drama, the survival of a family among ordinary difficulties in an African village. Then the intrigues of an African village, the general farming occupation, the new yam festival, the traditional dance, the hope, the despair and the family reunion.
