"A lot of action, alot of fun"

Well, there are times you wish you could change the way you rate games on a site like this cause all it takes is one to top them all. This game is exactly that.

We reviewed Pillars of the Earth some time ago and it was, and still is, a very nice game. Stone Age takes some of the mechanics of PoE and moves it a bit further.

Like PoE, this game involves gathering basic resources like stone, gold, wood, and clay. And the normal goal of gaining game points.

The added fun is trying to build huts, increase productivity and feeding these poor loin clothed souls. Game turns can move pretty quickly and there is a lot of motion on the board. Lots of nifty wooden pieces, beautifully cut tokens and parts and a spectacular and large game board.

This is a very physical game. Lots of pieces being placed, moved, and accounted for. Speed games are even more hilarious. Luck does play a fairly large part but can be accounted for.

As for the kids, our 8 year old plays pretty well but the mechanics are so basic, the 5 year old joins in from time to time when he knows we are not “Out for the kill”.

"Amazing game!"

Played this at a friends house and decided we needed to get it. Every time we play it my husband says it was worth every cent we payed for it. Not often two players can play a game.

"A beautiful game."

A beautifully presented game that is relatively simple to learn. Couple of drawbacks however – always seem to run out of gold pieces and the dice rolling does take a while. We have learnt to use dice simulators on our phones to help speed up this process. A great family game.

Relive history as you lead your tribe to prosperity at the dawn of humanity. Only those who master their fate will grasp victory.

Representing tribes attempting to make a living at the dawn of civilization, you and the other players compete to develop your culture and make life just a little bit easier. Use all your ingenuity to build a better life for your people.

Stone Age is a worker placement game in which players get a glimpse into this arduous period of history. Beginning with archaic tools, they gather wood, stone, and gold to attain higher levels of knowledge and build sturdier roofs over their heads. With simple, accessible rules that allow for a high amount of strategy, Stone Age appeals to both casual and hardcore players alike.

The Beginning of Time
Life was hard in the early days of human history. Our ancestors were hard workers, but through ingenuity learned to make much of this work easier. Over time, they developed tools to collect resources and develop human civilization. In Stone Age, you take on the role of a human in this bygone era. Beginning with archaic tools, you collect wood, stone, and gold to attain higher levels of knowledge and build sturdier structures. With resources being scarce, you must compete for the limited number of spaces on the board that produce them while also gathering food to feed your growing tribe. Through diligence and insight, you can forge your way through the early days of recorded history and build the foundation of human civilization.

Carve Victory in Stone
Stone Age is an engaging and accessible game where players take turns placing figures on the board spaces to perform actions and gather resources. There are a limited number of spaces, so you must determine the best actions to take each round. It’s up to you to develop your tribe by gathering resources, constructing new buildings, and advancing their culture while also maintaining enough food to feed your people. Strike the right balance to create the most advanced civilization and lead your people to a better life!
