Shedaisy: Kristyn Osborn, Kassidy Osborn, Kelsi Osborn.
The third album from the Osborn sisters from Utah (or fourth if you count their 2000 Christmas record, BRAND NEW YEAR) is the epitome of impeccably written, recorded, and executed modern country pop. From the sunnily sexy "Passenger Seat" and the equally accessible "5432 Run" to the tight harmonies of "Borrowed Home," Shedaisy's blend of hard-nosed realism and lively optimism blends the heritage of Loretta Lynn with the 21st-century outlook of a cleaner-cut SEX AND THE CITY.
The cheerily erotic "360 Degrees of You," with its "Go on, do whatever you do/I'll just sit here enjoying the view" lyric, reinforces the point that Shedaisy aren't a bunch of shrinking violets. The regretful "Without a Sound" showcases the band's sensitive side, with an impassioned vocal from their main songwriter Kristyn Osborn. The poignant "He's a Hero," a tribute to the sisters' father, shows that while Shedaisy are more than capable of Nashville-style sentiments, the emotions on SWEET RIGHT HERE are always heartfelt.
