Description

The "Architecture in Detail" series comprises books that focus on individual buildings noted for their exceptional character, innovative design or technical virtuosity. Each volume contains a text by a respected author, a sequence of colour and black-and-white photographs and a set of technical drawings and working details. One of the best-known buildings of the late 20th century and perhaps Australia's most potent landmark, the Sydney Opera House, with its white shell-like forms, is inextricably linked with the image of Sydney itself, a city celebrating its success as a venue for the 2000 Olympic Games.

Author Biography

Philip Drew is an architectural writer and critic based in Australia. His previous books include Leaves of Iron, a monograph on the work of Glenn Murcutt.
