Description

There's an African proverb stating that, "it takes a whole village to raise a child"; The constitution of the united states begins with, "we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal"; and within the pledge of allegiance, the implication is that we are, "one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Tears From The Hood is a poetic journey addressing the reality of these idioms through the eyes and experiences of a black man, born and raised in a country where the hypocrisy of that constitution, pledge of allegiance, and African proverb are manifested on a daily basis by the conduct of its government and the lack of it's humanity. It is a plea for change; it is hope that we can become a village, where all men are created equal, with liberty and justice for all for the sake of our children.
