Model Master has created the most brilliant acrylics ever. For the first time, model enthusiasts can spray or brush water wash up paint and create an exceptional finish.

Skin Tone Tint Bases provide one dark and one light, which can be applied directly to the figure as is or blended using one of the three Model Master Whites (Flat, Semi-gloss 4701, or Gloss 4696) depending on the amount of sheen required. Sheen should be adjusted according to the size (scale) of your subject. Larger scale figures require more sheen. Into this White Base you can add the two Model Master Skin Tone Tints – Warm (a ruddy hue) and Shadow, can be added in increasing amounts to infuse depth and variation to the Skin Tone Base applied earlier. After blending, highlights can be achieved by adding more White to these mixtures and/or the appropriate tint base.

NOTE: The figure paints are naturally thicker paint than other acrylics. They are intended (but not limited to) for painting figurines and a thicker paint is desired for the fine detail brush work. These acrylics are basically about twice as thick as other acrylics. You can thin these with #50496 Universal Acrylic Thinner. We suggest starting with a few drops of thinner, mix until you reach desired thickness. You should mix or thin colours on glass or acrylic Plexiglass as a palette or in their own glass jar. Do not thin directly in the bottle. Never paint directly from the bottle as this can cause cross contamination.
