The sixth edition of Textbook on Civil Liberties and Human Rights, provides a straightforward and stimulating account of this important area of law. It covers all the main areas of undergraduate courses on civil liberties, including police powers, freedom of expression, terrorism and public order, and sets the law in its social and political context. There is full discussion of the developing law on the Human Rights Act 1998, as well as consideration of the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights. Rights protecting privacy are analysed and the issues of asylum and discrimination are explored.
