Description

IN THE NAVY
In this rollicking nautical musical comedy, Abbott and Costello are two sailors bound for duty on the high seas. They befriend singing star Dick Powell, who has ditched the limelight for a quiet enlisted life and must help him evade an ambitious reporter (Claire Dodd) intent on using his new identity for her big story. To complicate matters even further, Pomeroy (Costello) has fallen for Patty, one of The Andrew Sisters, and puts on a charade to impress her. The action starts with a dance hall brawl and ends with Pomeroy playing captain of the battleship. The hilarious high jinks are punctuated by fabulous musical number, making In The Navy a classic entertainment treasure!

BUCK PRIVATES COME HOME
Bud and Lou return to civilian life in this hysterical slapstick adventure film. Slicker Smith and Herbie Brown are caught with Evy (Beverly Simmons), a young stowaway, on board their returning ship by Sgt. Collins (Nat Pendleton). Evading arrest and deciding they need to find someone to adopt Evey, the threesome go in search of Evey's “Aunt” Sylvia (Joan Fulton). Sylvia's fiance is a car racer trying to win an upcoming race, if he can only get his car out, and end up leading the police on a mad-cap cross-country race that's become one of the most infamous in film history.
