Description

Sherlock Ferret, the world's cutest detective, solves mysteries with the help of his friend Watson Mouse, and their friend Lestrade, who is a rhinoceros (though not a very big one). Together, they take on such nefarious characters as Moriarty Magpie, Colonel Sebastian Moorhen, Pablo Pigasso (yes, that Pigasso!), some scurrilous beasts from South America, and a mysterious photographer who is annoying Mr. Montague Mole. The adventures in this book are: The Missing Necklace The Multiplying Masterpieces The Poisoned Pond The Phantom Photographer with a bonus story of Vinnie the Visitor. Sherlock Ferret adventures are enjoyed by children between 7 and 11 - as well as being suitable for reading to younger children. Adults also enjoy the sly humour and the references to Sherlock Holmes.

Author Biography:

Hugh Ashton is the author of many bestselling Sherlock Holmes stories for adults. Sherlock Ferret and the Missing Necklace was his first book for children. After 28 years living in Japan, Hugh now lives in the city of Lichfield in the English Midlands, together with his wife Yoshiko (and no ferrets). Andy Boerger is an illustrator and storyteller originally from Ohio, now living in Tokyo. He has illustrated several children's books, including the popular What Does the Tooth Fairy Do With Our Teeth? and many of his own stories and illustrated essays can be found on his blog, along with dozens of pen & ink illustrations of animals and other wonderful things. His Tokyo habitat includes Feather the Ferret, a spunky creature who reminds Andy a bit of his departed friend Vinnie, who served as inspiration for the Sherlock Ferret character to both the author and the illustrator of this and other mystery tales.
