Description

Leon Bix Beiderbecke was the first great white jazz musician, born in Davenport, Iowa in 1903 and a largely self-taught virtuoso on the cornet whose vibrant tone was famously described by Eddie Condon as "like a girl saying yes." Bix was jazz music’s first real lyricist and a player of delicate sensitivity.
