What a record.
“The Lost Souls”, “Ever And A Day”, “Days Of The Phoenix”, “Wester”, “6 to 8”, “The Despair Factor” an “Morningstar”. While it may seem like half the album tracks have just been listed for no reason, each and every one of these songs has been etched into punk history. They showcase AFI's flawless ability to transform into a moody goth-rock bank, to a harsh hardcore punk anthem and absolutely everything in between.
Lead singer Davey Havok really finds his voice on this record, showing the world that his range reaches far beyond his trademark growl.
There was a reason that “The Art Of Drowning” transformed AFI into a legendary name – It's quite simply one of the finest punk rock records ever released.
