I used to be a mega-fan of The Hunger Games, but this book is nothing like the original books. It is a slow and boring character study of the young man who will grow up to be President Snow. It provides some interesting world-building on the evolution of the Games, but not much else. I think hardcore fans will appreciate it, but if you're not one, then it's not worth reading.
