The building is said to be frequently aired; but I found it extremely musty and while the library is still in good condition, another decade of neglect in this environment will undoubtedly work to the irreparable injury from damp of very much of its contents, particularly in newspaper files, mounted manuscripts, and volumes of pasted newspaper scraps, which classes of matter are peculiarly susceptible to the ravages of mildew and insects.
