I have seen this movie so many times over the years, love it. One of the old cvmassdics. Well worth buying or watching.

Description

A Texan town sheriff (Burt Reynolds, Smokey and the Bandit) fights to keep a historic whorehouse owned by his girlfriend (Country & Western icon Dolly Parton) open when a TV preacher (Dom DeLuise, All Dogs Go To Heaven) targets it as the Devil's playhouse in an effort to raise his popularity.

Based upon a true story in which investigative reporter Marvin Zindler (who inspired Dom DeLuise's "Melvin P. Thorpe" character) closed down the infamous "Chicken Ranch" brothel in LaGrange, Texas, in 1973.
