Based in London, he has reported on environmental, popular science and development issues from over 60 countries over the past 20 years. He writes regularly for the Daily Telegraph, the Guardian and the Independent . He was voted BEMA Environment Journalist of the Year in 2001 and is a past recipient of the TES Junior Information Book Award.
Ian Winton has worked in children's publishing for 20 years - with companies such as at Octopus Books, Dorling Kindersley and around 40 other UK and US publishers and packagers.
Piers Harper studied Ancient History and Classical Civilizations at Sheffield University but always loved drawing and so decided to become an illustrator. His many books include SNOW BEAR (Macmillan) and BORING! (Red Fox). Piers lives in Cumbria, where his hobbies are mountain climbing and eating chocolate!
