After reading the first book, this one was fairly average. The first book was fantastic, but this book was severely lacking. If you liked Geralt de Rivia from his first book then you will be disappointed by this book as he hardly features in it at all. Hopefully he is featured more in the next book, which there should be a follow up to this one.

"A great intro to the series."
4 stars"

They advertise this book as if it is all about Geralt of Rivia. He is a main character but not the protagonist… It goes through the perspective of characters like Dandelion and Triss Merigold, but the hero of the story is a young girl called Ciri.

If the reader gets over that fact they will find an exiting first chapter in what is looking to be an exiting series full of mystery and drama! Cant wait for part 2!

Deff not as good as the first book. I found parts of it quite boring in all honesty. Alas it still important to read in the series and enjoyed reading a lot about young Ciri.

"Bot as good as the first by far"

Mighty ape were quick with their delivery- 2 days for Auckland. But honestly this book was not nearly as good as the first – which was an awesome book.

"It is great to learn about the world of The Witcher"

Haven't finished it yet but so far so good. The authors descriptive writing really paints a solid picture of the characters and environment. It's good to learn more about the world and it also helps fill in the blanks where the games were missing.
