She speaks and writes Russian, German, Italian, French, and English; and at an exhibition of fine arts in St. Petersburg, obtained the prize for two of her paintings. Her invocations of the Muses have not been less successful; and that she is the only person who has ascended the Manda, one of the highest mountains in Switzerland, proves that these graces are not incompatible with energy and heroism.
