Welcome to the Cotton Club, where crime lords rub shoulders with the rich and famous. Director, Frances Ford Coppola and co-writers, William Kennedy and The Godfather's Mario Puzo create a panorama of love, crime and entertainment centred on the legendary Harlem Nightclub owned by Owney Madden (Bob Hoskins, Outlaw). Cornet player Dixie Dwyer (Richard Gere, Chicago) gets a job in Harlem's famous Cotton Club, while his brother gets a job as Dutch Schultz's (James Remar, Django Unchained) bodyguard. Dwyer falls for Schultz's mistress Vera Cicero (Diane Lane, Unfaithful) and finds himself caught in the middle of mobster rivalry in this stylish gangster film.

- " It's the most entertaining art film of the year, the kind of movie you can't help smiling along with. " – Paul Attanasio , Washington Post
- " It was the most assured film Coppola had made in a decade, full of casual wit and visual invention. " – Dave Kehr , Chicago Reader
- " Whatever it took to do it, Coppola has extracted a very special film out of the checkered history of this project. " – Roger Ebert , Chicago Sun-Times
