A basically accurate account of one of the most daring and crazy air raids of World War 2. The story of 617 Squadron RAF, aka “The Dambusters”, who in May of 1943 skipped special depth charges along the lakes of several hydro dams too cause power and water (one tonne of steel needs 100 of water) shortages (not as bad as hoped).
Despite fictionalising elements due too still much of it being secret and “stiff-upper-lopped” nature of the time (they didn't worry about the dog though!) this film is a thrilling account of that amazing raid and a major source of influence of the Death Star battle and the Rogue Squadron from Star Wars.
