Thomas E. Fuller created The Dancer in the Dark as an audio play. When he passed away, his frequent co-author Brad Strickland completed the work Thomas had begun in adapting the story to novel form. Thomas E. Fuller was a native of Alabama, but spent most of his working life in Duluth, Georgia. He was a co-founder and became the head writer and artistic director for the Atlanta Radio Theatre Company. Thomas was married to Berta and was the father of four children, Edward, Anthony, John, and Christina. Brad Strickland is a retired Professor of English at the University of North Georgia and is the author of more than eighty novels, some of which he co-wrote with Thomas E. Fuller. He continues to write and to serve as the Atlanta Radio Theatre Company's head writer. Brad is married to Barbara and lives in Snellville, Georgia. He and Barbara have two grown children Jonathan and Amy, a daughter-in-law, Rebecca, a son-in-law, Timothy Sweeney, and two granddaughters, Elora and Stella.
