Description

The Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine is perhaps the most famous lost mine in American history. Rick Allen taps into Dutchman lore and simultaneously taps your funny bone with his hilarious new novel The Disoriented Dutchman's Gold Mine; he then revs up the action with some creative license. Legend has it that Jacob Waltz "The Lost Dutchman" had a rich mine in the Superstition Mountains, near Apache Junction, east of Phoenix, Arizona. Census reports reveal he had no wife or children, but the author gives him posterity nonetheless. Restauranteur "Frijole" Joe Waltz is the great-grandson of the Lost Dutchman. The location of the gold mine was lost with the death of Joe's grandmother, or so he thought. His parents have been loose-lipped about their heritage, a mistake that forces them into hiding, and now places their lives in jeopardy because of an eavesdropping con man, bent on obtaining the treasure at any cost. Joe's ex-girlfriend, now privy to his true identity, also joins in the search, and has enlisted the help of her bumbling brother and friend in her plot to track down the gold. With clues left by his late grandmother now surfacing, Joe's life and the famous Lost Dutchman's gold are in growing peril. Praise for The Disoriented Dutchman's Gold Mine: "It's no vampire lovin' book, but The Disoriented Dutchman is entertaining. I'll give him that." -Stefani Myer "This guy is a veritable Da Vinci, the way he paints a picture with words. Rick Allen? Oh, wrong guy. My mistake." -Dan Browne "The Disoriented Dutchman is destined to become a classic. It has Hollywood blockbuster written all over it. I'll put in a call to Steven for you Rick." -James Pattersen Rick Allen is a humorist, freelance writer and healthcare practitioner. He graduated from both Grand Canyon University and Midwestern University. Rick's first novel "Proctology Treasure," was well received and introduced his offbeat sense of humor to his ever-growing number of readers. The Disoriented Dutchman's Gold Mine is sure to be treasured by them as well as Lost Dutchman fans everywhere. He currently resides in Chandler, Arizona with his wife and four children.
