Most of the book is a great bedtime story for 5 year olds teaching them that even if you come from humble beginnings, you can still achieve greatness. The end is pretty dark though: once you have achieved greatness against all odds, its then OK to maroon your rival and condemn them to die alone on the barren surface of the moon while you go back to earth and take all the glory ha!
