It's the end of Year 4, and the long summer holidays are stretching ahead. Ten-year-old Frankie Googanstein just wants to hang out with her best-friend-forever Billy Bloom, but he's going on holiday. And what is she going to do about the school project on what she wants to be when she grows up? When Frankie meets a real life journalist, she decides to write her own newspaper - The Frank Frankie. But a newspaper needs news, so soon Frankie is spying on the resident witch and revealing her family secrets in print to every house in the neighbourhood! In between, Frankie rescues a neighbour, meets a real-life editor, saves her mum's relationship, and discovers that some nincompoops make really good friends.
